Itching is a natural condition experienced by anyone. However, if it gets runny itching, then there could be a sign of a more serious skin health problem.

Irritant contact dermatitis is the most common type of contact dermatitis. This happens when the skin is in contact with toxic materials. Toxic substances that can cause irritant contact dermatitis include acidic chemicals, bleaching agents, sewer cleaners, kerosene, detergents, or pepper spray. Irritant contact dermatitis is common in people who routinely work with chemicals or detergents that strong, like a restaurant, or the building cleaning and maintenance section. This is also seen in people who do a lot of household chores, due to contact with cleaning products.
Allergic contact dermatitis
Allergic contact dermatitis occurs when the skin experiences an allergic reaction after exposure to a foreign substance which is an allergen. Reactions that occur are usually only in areas that come in contact with allergens. Allergic dermatitis can also be triggered by something that enters your body through food or medication. Common causes of allergic contact dermatitis include contact with jewelry made of nickel or gold, rubber gloves, perfume or chemicals in cosmetics and skin care products.
Eczema
Eczema (atopic dermatitis) is a condition that can also make your skin red and itchy. This is common in children, but can also occur in adulthood. Until now there is no known exact cause of eczema. Eczema is thought to be caused by a combination of factors that include genetics, abnormal functioning of the immune system, the environment, activities that can cause the skin to be more sensitive, as well as disorders of skin moisture that make germs easier to enter.
Bacterial infection
Generally, symptoms of bacterial infection of the skin in the form of small red bumps. However, these lumps can grow larger with other symptoms, such as itching. Some bacterial infections of the skin are mild and can be treated with antibiotic ointments applied to the skin. Others may need oral antibiotics.
Fungal infections
Generally, fungal infections will affect the moist skin areas such as feet and underarms. Most fungi are harmless, but some types can be dangerous to health. Getting rid of fungal infections of the skin is not too difficult. Once you know what type of infection you have, your doctor will give antifungal creams and other medicines to help get rid of the infection. Sometimes the doctor will also prescribe a fungus medication taken.
